North Florida Medical Services is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Fleming, FL

Medical Assistant

North Florida Surgeons Walker Allergy and ENT is a multi service ENT practice. We provide ENT services, Audiology and Allergy. We have a well-known & highly respected reputation in both our Fleming Island and Jacksonville communities. Our work week is Monday – Friday beginning at 7am. We are closed on weekends and National Holidays. Our team of clinicians and staff work together to focus on comprehensive and quality care for each patient. Our Practice is looking for a dedicated hard working Medical Assistant to join our team!

Responsibilities include:

  • preparing charts for providers
  • patient intake
  • basic scribing for physician
  • follow up on recommended orders
  • process medication refills for providers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities. Knowledge of healthcare field and medical specialty. Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical specialty. Knowledge of information that must be conveyed to patients and families. Knowledge of legal responsibilities relating to patient confidentiality. Skill in performing tasks appropriately. Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions. Skill in understanding of patient education needs by effectively sharing information with patients and families. Skill in operating all office/medical equipment. Skill in answering the telephone in a helpful and pleasant manner and using a multi-line telephone system. Ability to learn and retain information regarding patient care. Ability to project a pleasant and professional image. Ability to plan, prioritize and complete delegated tasks. Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others

Education: High school diploma, some college preferred. Certificate/Diploma in Medical Assisting preferred.

Experience: Minimum of one year work experience in a medical office setting preferred. Medical terminology required.

Requirements: Maintains CPR certification. Maintain a professional image at all time including (but not limited to) clean and pressed uniform.

Physical/Mental Demands: Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies.

Environmental/Working Conditions: Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings. Well-lighted, well-ventilated, adequate space. Exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to clinic setting.
